Responsibilities

The Clinical Intake Representative I will review incoming physician referrals for prospective patients and will determine the urgency of the referral and appropriate next steps for each patient based on established clinical protocols.

  • Contact patients to visit a UVVC clinic for an initial visit based on referral.
  • Receive inbound calls from prospective patients and work to schedule them to visit a UVVC clinic for an initial visit.
  • Develop relationships with physician liaisons to ensure physician referrals are processed timely and appropriately.
  • Communicate with referring providers to discuss any questions or concerns regarding referral.
  • Field overflow inbound service calls from existing patients and service the patient request.
  • Re-engage patients that have contacted UVVC in the past but have not scheduled an initial visit with the goal of booking their first appointment.

  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations. PHI is a top priority of our organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Healthcare or medical experience required; LPN’s or MA’s preferred.
  • Call center and/or customer service experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Outlook and other computer platforms.
