Responsibilities

The Principal/Executive Director/VP, Merger Integration & Acquisitions will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of post-acquisition integration across UVVC. This role involves leading strategic planning, coordination, and implementation of integrations, ensuring that each acquisition meets its milestones, value drivers, and cultural alignment. The successful candidate will work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to guide the acquired entities through the integration process and drive full value realization from acquisitions. This position is ideal for someone who has experience in rapidly scaling healthcare organizations, managing substantial inorganic growth, or as a senior consultant in post-merger integration.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Develop and lead the post-acquisition integration strategy, ensuring smooth and seamless transitions for newly acquired businesses.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define integration goals, timelines, and success metrics for each acquisition.
  • Provide strategic guidance on organizational design, process improvement, and change management to ensure alignment with acquisition objectives.

Integration Management:

  • Oversee the entire integration process from planning to execution and post-integration evaluation.
  • Partner with senior leaders to finalize and implement Day 1 and 30-60-90 day plans for all departments.
  • Collaborate closely with department heads to align processes, systems, and resources to ensure smooth operational transitions.
  • Lead cross-functional integration teams, providing oversight to ensure all integration activities are on time and within scope.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and challenges throughout the integration process.

Cultural and Operational Alignment:

  • Lead and exemplify UVVC's company culture, values, and practices during early transition phases.
  • Act as a dynamic change management leader to guide the integration and inspire leaders in both the acquisition and UVVC.
  • Mentor leaders in acquired entities to build trust, foster collaboration, and ensure the right people are placed in the right roles.
  • Work with HR to manage talent integration, assess staffing needs, and promote employee engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and execute communication plans to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned.

Performance and Reporting:

  • Establish KPIs and cultural milestones to measure the success of each integration.
  • Regularly report on integration progress, risks, and achievements to the leadership team.
  • Ensure accountability and track ongoing success and value realization from acquisitions.

Systems, Processes, and Technology Integration:

  • Partner with IT and EHR teams to integrate technology platforms, systems, and operational processes across acquired entities.
  • Work with IT leadership to ensure seamless data migration and alignment of digital tools.
  • Facilitate alignment of compliance and regulatory systems with UVVC standards.

Post-Acquisition Optimization:

  • Lead post-acquisition improvement initiatives to optimize operations, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Identify synergies, cost savings, and process improvements to maximize the value of acquisitions.
  • Support long-term strategic initiatives to ensure sustained growth and performance of integrated businesses.

Integration Best-Practice Development:

  • Develop and refine integration processes and toolkits to ensure future integration successes.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to upskill and enhance departmental integration capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, post-acquisition integration, and transformation projects with a proven track record of operational excellence.
  • 3+ years of experience in healthcare is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to think both strategically and tactically, with attention to detail and the ability to lead through ambiguity.
  • Skilled at influencing and motivating colleagues at all levels, without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with the ability to translate complex problems into clear, actionable solutions.
  • Proficiency in structured change management and project management methodologies.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage with senior executives, team members, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience managing multiple projects of varying sizes, with strong leadership capabilities in a multi-functional role.
  • Ability to make decisions, document progress, and resolve issues collaboratively in meetings with executive stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field is required.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
