Responsibilities

The HR Coordinator reports to the Chief People Officer and supports the HR Team with various projects and tasks to include, but not limited to, reporting, auditing, benefit reconciliations, data analysis and tracking, employee communications, onboarding, leave of absence management, employment verifications, unemployment responses, offboarding, compliance and other administrative tasks.

  • Print and ship employee badges.
  • Assist with revision, distribution, acknowledgement, and tracking (acknowledgement and/or signing) of company policies.
  • Create reports and presentations on HR tasks and/or metrics.
  • Maintain & audit employee records, training, data uniformity in various systems.
  • Update internal databases.
  • Complete verifications of employment and income.
  • Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding functions to include background check review, I-9 verifications, certification and license review at hire and annually.
  • Manage labor law poster inventory.
  • Assist with management of job descriptions and HR documents.
  • Assist with leave of absence requests.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives and events.

  • Maintain the confidentiality and security of Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with UVVC policies, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and other applicable laws and regulations. PHI is a top priority of our organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS in Human Resources or relevant field preferred; SHRM or HRCI certification preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the field of Human Resources; good understanding of general HR practices and fundamentals.
  • Relevant experience with reporting and analytics preferred.
  • Proficient with office technologies including strong working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience with HRIS (UKG) helpful.
  • Healthcare experience a plus.
  • Self-directed with good judgment; takes full ownership of responsibilities but knows when to ask for direction and support
  • Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects and multi-task.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
  • Strong problem-solving and team communication abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to multi-task and pivot as necessary.
  • Dependable; consistently follows through on commitments and meets reliable attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and discretion and demonstrate a high level of confidentiality and good judgment.
  • Ability to cultivate strong, effective working relationships with all employees, vendors, and other stakeholders.
